White Blister – Brassica Crops

Key Points:

  1. White blister is caused by the pathogen Albugo candida
  2. Avoid long periods of leaf wetness
  3. Time irrigation to coincide with dew periods
  4. Avoid dense planting to allow leaves to dry off quickly
  5. High levels of nitrogen may increase symptoms
  6. Plant varieties with high tolerance to white blister
  7. Plant disease free transplants
  8. Remove volunteer plants and contaminated crop debris
  9. Rotate with a non-Brassica crop
  10. Chemical control using registered fungicides
