Last Saturday night saw Victorian growers take out two of Australia’s top Vegetable Industry Awards. The Awards were presented during the National Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner at the AUSVEG Convention at Wrest Point Casino in Hobart. Tina Lamattina took out the Women in Horticulture Award which was presented by 2011 winner Deborah Corrigan. The Award for Grower of the Year went to Frank Ruffo. Frank was voted the winner from a large number of worthy nominees. Frank’s sons Joseph and Frankie, were also nominated for National Excellence Awards. Successful home delivery franchise business Aussie Farmers Direct, received the Award for Innovative Marketing.
