VGA President David Wallace is pleased to announce the appointment of Helena Whitman as Executive Manager of VGA Victoria, effective from 1 March 2012. Helena will manage all VGA field staff and coordinate responses to industry issues and represent VGA Victoria at industry forums. Helena has a great depth of experience with industry association management and food safety, serving in several roles with WA, SA and National bodies, before joining VGA Victoria in 2010. As IDO-West, Helena has represented VGA Victoria on the State Governments HIN program as well as the VIDP/CIO program funded by Horticulture Australia. These programs continue to provide Victorian vegetable growers with high value information relevant to their businesses through informative communications and practical workshops. Rod Hall will assume the IDO responsibilities for western Victoria and continue to provide membership support to vegetable growers. With John Runting covering eastern Victoria, Victorian vegetable growers will continue to benefit from an exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable field team. Long serving Executive Officer Tony Imeson will continue as Company Secretary and Public Officer, responsible for administrative and financial affairs.
