The 2015 VGA-AGM held on Friday the 9th of October confirmed David Wallace as President for 2016. The meeting also elected the new Executive and Paul Gazzola was returned as Vice President. Other executive members serving over the coming year will be: Craig Arnott, Bill Bulmer, Peter Cochrane, Deborah Corrigan, Vince Doria, Emma Germano, Frank Lamattina, Rocky Lamattina and Anthony Mason.
At the completion of the business session Executive Officer Ken Orr provided an update on the work that the VGA had undertaken over the last 12 months. Emma Germano presented an overview of the findings gathered during her Nuffield scholarship to study “Niche Export Opportunities for Australian Vegetable Growers”. Over a period of 18 months, Emma visited 16 countries and attended many conferences as part of her study of the vegetable industries locally and overseas.
After long and extensive consultation with VGA members, the future structure of the Association was also resolved at the AGM. More information will be coming soon.
