Our 2013 Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 18th October and confirmed the re-election of David Wallace as President and endorsed the 2013-2014 Office Bearers:
Executive Committee Members, Craig Arnott, Bill Bulmer, Peter Cochrane, Luis Gazzola, Frank Lamattina and Anthony Mason were returned and Joe Kelly was welcomed as a new Member of the Committee.
Congratulations went to Tom Schreurs and Peter Schreurs, who were awarded Life Membership for their long service and dedication to the industry. VGA Vic Executive Manager Helena Whitman provided an overview of the years successes. Richard Mulcahy, CEO AUSVEG provided a comprehensive update of AUSVEGs powerful advocacy for grower interests. Tiesha Dower and Carolyn Creed presented the Melbourne Market Authorities Schools Program outlining their work with schools, corporate and retailers, promoting the role of fresh produce in healthy eating, a continuing role which will be further expanded in the future. David Minnis, Chairman of Australian Horticultural Exporters Association reported on the export opportunities for fruit & vegetables.
The post-AGM Dinner was well attended with nearly 60 guests entertained by key speaker Pam Hawkes part-owner of Black Caviar, speaking about life with the champion horse.
